How will KCLT acquire land?
PURCHASE
KCLT will purchase land using grants, monetary donations and low- or no-interest loans provided by private foundations, governments, businesses and individuals. Income, estate and property tax benefits may arise from selling property to KCLT at less than market value.

LAND DONATIONS
Local landowners may donate their real property or easement interests in their real property and may receive tax benefits.

GRANTS
KCLT’s non-profit status enables it to apply for and obtain grant funds for acquisition of property and easements.

MONETARY DONATIONS
An individual, organization, business, or other interested group may make tax-deductible contribution to KCLT for land acquisition or administration costs.

CONSERVATION EASEMENTS
Landowners may receive tax benefits for designating portions of their land for conservation easements.
